I am piecing together an entry level system with components. I am weighing several preamps now and one I am looking at is a BAT VK-3i tube amp. Well, this one has no phono stage and I am looking for a basic phono preamp to connect it. I would prefer balanced ( but there goes the price). I was looking at the single ended Azur 640P and read several reviews and it seems to be OK. Any thoughts? More recommendations? As mentioned in other forums I will be using around a 1K (US) turntable with a moving magnet cartridge. Also, genre's range from blue,classic rock, rock the occassional jazz (fusion) and classical, rarely. Thoughts? debates? serious recommendations? I am still thinking of waiting on a Cary or Adcom so I won't have to go through this, however, I have never had a tube front end and would like to try it. Assuming rock sounds OK on it.. a whole "nuther" forum
