I am looking to build my first stereo setup for a medium sized room (roughly 15x15). The system is primarily for music, input from both ipod and laptop. I would like to keep my total budget around $1000 total for everything (speakers, receiver, cables, stands, etc.) Also, while I may have interest in adding a sub woofer down the line, for the moment, I will not be using one.

I have demo'd the Paradigm Mini Monitors V6 and I am nearly sold on them. So, I still need to handle the receiver selection. I was originally looking at the Yamaha RX-797. My local audio dealer can hook me up with a package with the Minis, the Yamaha, the cables and the stand all for around $1000, which sounded like my best option. However, after hearing some mixed feedback and reviews on the Yamaha, I eventually found myself looking at the Outlaw RR2150. I like all the features of the Outlaw and I have only read great reviews, however, the extra $200 is a bit steep. Is the RR2150 worth the extra dough or would the Yamaha satisfy my needs?

And as long as I am still looking, are there any other receivers or integrated amps in the $300-$500 range that anyone can recommend?

Thanks in advance

Eric
