Hello,
I have a 17 x 34 room (Livingroom and Kitchen), 17x17 is usable space for surround sound and LCR is at the narrow end of the room with the speakers facing back to the kitchen.
LCR placement isn't a problem and surrounds I will have to mount the wall. My goal is to have a good (7.1) front stage presence LCR + Height and have surrounds. I currently have an Onkyo TX-SR608 which can do this but I am at the cross roads where my speakers all need to be replaced.
Given some background info to move forward with 4K TV's and better DACs. Would the use of multichannel output provide a better sound stage than digital? Where is the cost better placed, in OPPO-203's DAC or in a receiver? The universal player from Oppo is ideal to reduce the amount of devices I have in the cabinet and it appears the money is in this unit is to use multchannel out with its DAC.
Thanks!
