this system isnt designed for "a clean center image" but for precise localization of the source. the source will appear exactly where it is in relation to the microphones , in the angle of incidence.
so yes, you will hear the vocal to the right...think about it..when you have a guitarist , the person's head is normally off center from the soundhole.(and yep, it is to the right, as he is a right handed player..so looking from the front, indeed his voice would come from the right) I had two "outrigger" mics as well, (DPA 4006s) used to tie down the "center image" a bit.. and could have manipulated it in post...but it was just a bit of fun. Alternatively...i could have placed the mic(a hotrodded stereo mic, AKG 426B) in such a manner that my partner's voice was in the center, but with the distance we were working with, it would have put the guitar outside of that 90 degree arc, and thus would have caused phase anomalies and other weirdness.
thats the thing with blumlein... you get exactly what is in front of the mics.. that is both a blessing and a curse.
Let me clarify my position; if there is one performer who is sitting center stage, certainly his mouth and the guitar are roughly going to be centered. I'm hearing the vocals 2 to 3 ft to the right, if that is what you intended then I'd say you should have chosen a better mic location. I'm certain that Blumlein knew what he was doing and what his goals were, not so sure that your results are representative of his goals. I do understand that you think they are, not sure that I would agree. Seems you question my use of the phrase "clean center image", so allow me to clarify. If there is only one performer who is placed center stage then for me a clean center image means that I'm hearing the source as coming from between the two speakers, roughly center, rather than offset to the right or left, or worse shifting or split from side to side. You seem to agree with what I'm hearing but I can't say I agree with your rationalization.
You also mention this recording which I just purchased:
"Eric Bibb and Needed Time- "Spirit and The Blues" on Opus 3. That is an amazing recording."
I notice that Bibb is center on the mic pair, and the other performers are at nearly 90 degrees off from center. Given your recent statement then I suppose you expect the recording to have the other performers hard right and left since you claim "thats the thing with blumlein... you get exactly what is in front of the mics.."
You find this to provide imaging as if you were there at the performance?
I should probably mention that I am always looking for well recorded material and that is what is driving my interest here.
as usual I am late to the party... can you repost these as the above link is dead.
thanks
I dont have those particular links, but I have some more stuff I can post..

the top two recordings(Die Schopfung--the creation) were recorded in blumlein.
The second link Teddy posted further down the thread still works:
