There's a big gap between a Chromecast-audio-plus-DAC and a Bluesound Node 2. What is it that you are trying to accomplish? In other words, what are your use cases?

Some initial considerations:
Do you have an existing library with files greater than a 24/96 resolution?

Are you (or do you plan to be) on the MQA bandwagon?

Which streaming services do you (plan to) use?

Do you seek only S/PDIF out?
