I suggest the Polk PSW505, which is a fairly good one for your price range.

One of the Mordaunt-Short subwoofers might also be a good choice; they are good and the company is based in England. Audio Advisor sells their Alumni 9 sub for $249; maybe they can ship to you, or tell you how to contact the company in England and get it shipped from there.

I would not recommend the JBL subwoofer.

You do need one with an adjustable filter, which you should set to between 50 and 60 Hz to use with your speakers. The exact setting should be fine-tuned by experimenting and listening.

I would recommend looking at a few of the subs in REL's line up. I have one on of their G1 and am constantly amazed at how well it plays. I can't comment on their T and R series but they always seem to get very positive reviews.

Also RELs have a nice feature that lets you plug them right into your speaker terminals and then set the cross over on the sub. I think this is a very nice way to get it to blend together.

the Subs are made out of Europe so i'm sure you have a local dealer and can save on shipping. If not Music Direct sells their whole line up.

Ones that i have heard & also find to be a good value are SVS, HSU & Rythmik Audio.
Rel, Velodyne & JL Audio have high quality product, if yo can afford the entry fee.

JMHO YMMV

New update, bought a dali E-12-F, i knew there was some problem with the aut standby and turning on/off, after 20 min it goes to standby (led in the left lower corner is red), i had to turn the amp off and on again, to get sound, if it annoys me i might buy the jamo sub 660 for the same price (they have one a custommer returned), have a small jamo sub 200 and theres no problems with standby, have it on all the time and it turns it self off and on aut with no problems.

Is it recommendable to have it on instead of aut, all the time when my pc is on? (many hours)
