I am new to the world of HiFi and putting together my first HiFi. I mostly listen to Jazz and Classical; in the background while working, reading or having friends over.

I am getting a pre-listened Linn Sondek LP12 with a Ortofon Quintet Blue MC cartridge; getting a Phono-in too. I liked the B&W 683 but am being offered a good price on the B&W CM9s - which I am told is much better, and looking for the right amp to go with it - under EUR 2000.

I was recommended the Rotel 1570, however to me that sounded muffled compared to Rega Elex-R. The store keeper then told me "getting an integrated amp gets you half of analog and half of digital", one does not get a good experience of either. While that may be salesman's technique I am inclined to believe it. May get a Bluesound Node 2 for digital streaming.

The Rega Elex-R retails for EUR 1300 in Continental Europe (wonder how its GBP 900 in UK) which I felt was ideal for the B&W 683. I like the Elex-R, but do not want an underpowered amp for the CM9s. Could you please recommend the appropriate amp for CM9s in my price range.
