Hola,

Been listening to the new Spoon disc, "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga," which is kinda like the previous Spoon disc, "Gimme Fiction" (which I loved.)

The new disc is a little "Spoon Meets Fountains Of Wayne," but the first song continues a certain thing I think Spoon does, which is keep a certain je ne sais que from disc to disc on track one.

Spoon is good at song hooks that make you think that "something is about to happen," in a non-musical sort of way. They can time their guitar and piano to make you wonder if your door is about to be kicked in by the feds.

This "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga" disc, other than being maddening to type, is of a kind with their last disc. Kind of like "Is This It" going to "Room On Fire," or "Kind of Blue" leading one to "Somethin' Else." But that's only a criticism if you didn't dig act one!

Consider this Spoon's pop album.

So, in the heirarchy, buy "Gimme Fiction" on vinyl, then buy this on CD.
