First post and hello everybody!
A little about myself: I'm a beginner Audiophile that started with headphones and iems. I want to acquire a starter system to broaden my experiences with different gears and music.
Now I'm here to here to ask for help haha. The genres I listen to are: Jazz, Vocals, Pop, Orchestra, Rock, J-Pop, J-Rock with Jazz, Vocals and the Js getting more playback. I'm not sure what sounds I'm looking since I haven't exposed myself to many kinds. What I'm looking for though is a system that can handle at the very least Jazz and Vocals nicely.
I'm wondering how is the marantz CD/PM5004 combo is? and if the marantz PM5004 would be enough to power the Sony ES SS-9M, MAG60, Polk RT-55.
For the speakers I read that the PSB Image B25s were good starting ones the only problem I have that unlike the speakers above I would not be able to audition them. I've checked my craigslist listings and found the Sony ES SS-9M for $1k, MAG60 for $1.2k, Polk RT-55 for $250. These 3 may be used but at least I can meet the owners and be able to possibly auditon them (no reply from them yet).
I'd appreciate any inputs, and thank you for reading.
