I'm Michael...this is my first post here.
I'm the host of a very popular business podcast, and I'm on the early end of my audiophile journey. On the way back from T.H.E. Show in Newport, I wanted to listed to some audiophile podcasts on my way back to San Diego. Much to my surprise, there are literally NONE.
So, I'm starting a new podcast called "Beginner Audiophile".
It's going to be a gear guide, as well as tips and reviews for equipment, (new and used) aimed at $2000 or lower. I have a number of companies sending me some gear to review, but I wanted to know if you had some recommendations of great "bang for the buck" gear that we should review on the show. My co-host is a very experienced audiophile, and we'll try the gear on a variety of different systems.
Some of the focus at the beginning will be how to improve 2 Channel Sound if you have an AVR, which is a common path many beginners take...like I did.
We're looking for
Speakers
Integrated
Amps
Streamers
DAC's
and anything else you might recommend. So, if you have some examples (especially of used gear one might find on Craigslist) you can share, I would greatly appreciate it!
We've been speaking to Emotiva, ELAC, Paradigm, and Anthem so far.
