Awkward Rega RP1 question

I just unpacked my first Rega RP1

When I lower the arm to play a record, here is how low the needle goes:

Is that normal? the arm is in the correct position (per the instructions close to the stop).

If it's not normal (it seems WAY too low for me), what can I do to adjust this?

Normal

It's supposed to have that much movement. Remember, it isn't held in the groove, it RESTS in the groove.
