I have been buying High Resolution Audio files and playing them with my portable player over my system via bluetooth, but I am now looking at authoring to DVD-Video so I can have a backup and physical disc that will play in all my players. Since I don't have more than 1 or two players that support DVD-A, I am staying with DVD-V and its maximum of 96/24 stereo. I have many files in 192/24 that I want to put on disc and I am unsure if changing to 96/24 degrades the quality. I am using HD Audio Solo for this purpose.
Also, I have a bunch of files that are 16bit, 48kHz from those same sites. Am I OK to convert these to 16/44.1 to put on a CD, or will I be able to tell the difference between the two? In other words, am I better off saving a bit of coin in the future and just buying the CD rather than paying more for 16/48 files?
Thanks in advance.
