The oddest part about Art's "review" of the Artemis is that in the 5-pg review he never really describes how it sounds! His entire commentary could be reduced to probably one sentence. In fact, all he really says is that it has big images and articulate bass. No comments at all about overall tonal balance, dynamics, pacing, detail, etc.
I really don't understand Art's interest in writing for Stereophile. He obviously likes to tell a story and he does have a good writing style, but it's almost like he's being forced against his will to say anything about sound quality. He must think he's writing for the New Yorker instead of a hifi mag.
I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but there is precious little information communicated in his review.
