Greetings. I accidentally acquired the Tekton Pendragons in a truly out-of-this-world offer. A homeowner who was downsizing and moving to another state, had just sold his home and the buyer of it didn't want his home theater equipment. To expedite the sale and removal, he put it all up for a fraction of the price. When I auditioned the Pendragons, I was less than impressed. When I put them in my home theater which was constructed from the ground up (double walls, acoustic insulation, mass loaded vinyl, green glue, acoustic putty, etc.) to sound optimal, I was blown away. The original audition featured a room with a huge opening on one side and drop ceilings. The acoustical environment was far worse than I ever realized. I'm a fan of Revel, have heard the ML Motion 60s but not the GE or Zu. I do know that both Tekton and Zu get their speakers from the world's largest speaker manufacturer -- Eminence, in Kentucky. Prior to this I had never auditioned a Tekton Design speaker. Every speaker has a sonic signature. Most people (>80%) will select the better sounding speaker in an audition. Although my JBL Synthesis Project Array 1400s are more accurate but convey less musical material, the Pendragons sound exceptionally clean but do things the 1400s can't. First, they produce big natural bass that's more defined. Second, the multiple tweeter arrays produce such a massive sweet spot that convey presence (more radiating surface area matters) and articulation that's quite stunning. As a value proposition, they are hands down a steal. Yes, I have Maggies and love them, I'm a fan of Focal and B&W, but at the price point of the Pendragon for visceral musical bliss, slam and dynamics, the Pendragons take the podium. If you get them, you'll wake up in the middle of the night and call yourself a liar for how good they sound. Cheers.

Almost anyone can and will select the speaker that sounds the best to them. That's what an audition is for.
Where do statistics come into this?

Sharing the Tekton Design Ulfberhts LCR. The center channel isn't actually shown on Tekton's product page but began life as a Double Impact Wide only to receive sonically matched tweeter array to the Ulfberhts. Instead of the 7 tweeter array in the D.I.s the Ulf center utilizes a larger 5 tweeter array. The subwoofer is the Tekton 4-10. I ordered another 4-10 and have yet to receive, install, and take a photo of it.

I don't know if a showroom audition would of personally satisfied me. I mean the Tektons sound totally different after a couple of months of playing around with the room trying to disperse reflections, equipment calibrations, and not to mention break in period for the speakers. I'm still fine tuning .... . Tekton's money back trial period was actually what gave me confidence to make the purchase. Nothing better than to try out equipment in the actual room where it will reside.

Besides adding another 4-10 I can possibly see expanding the 3.1 system to 5.2.4 system. Having a vaulted ceiling overhead I was thinking about a pair of custom in ceiling/wall Ulfberhts for the slope behind the listener for rear surrounds. Four Atmos overhead speakers, but all this wouldn't come about this year.
