Hello all.
After happily pairing a Sierra-1s with a Marantz PM5004 for a while, I have blown a woofer (I was unaware that an underpowered amp could blow a speaker. I learnt the hard way). After getting the woofer replaced under warranty, I am now looking for a new amplifier. I am located in Australia, so I may not have all the options that are available in Europe and the US.
I have been looking at a varity of manufacturers, including NAD, Cambridge Audio, Rotel, and others. I have been hearing good things as well about the Anthem 255.
I am wondering if there are any suggestions other people have? I am only looking to spend up to about US$1500. I was looking at integrated amplifiers, but if there is a power/pre amp pairing that people recommend for a similar price, I am open to ideas!
Thanks guys. Music is mainly lossless files played through a Music Fidelity DAC. A phono stage is also essential as I listen to a bit of vinyl as well.
