Hi All, Maybe the kind memebers of Stereophile can help me narrow down an amplifier replacment. My speakers are PSB Synchrony One’s and in front I am using a Classic SE and MV-60SE.  I’m very happy, but want for better dynamics and a firmer grip on the low end.  I am in love with the CJ midrange, however I am unable to afford some of their loftier amplifier designs.  I have considered solid state amps like Pass and Parasound, but am afraid of that solid state edginess in the upper frequency range that a solid state amp might deliver and seem to prefer the sound of tubes.

I have compiled a short list and would be very grateful for any advice on the subject.  On my short list:

Rogue M-180 mono blocks (seriously considering)

CJ Premier 140

Pass Labs X250.5

Quicksilver Silver 88

Parasound JC-1 (used, but still very expensive)

Thanks,

Eric
