For people who aren't going to spend lots of time system matching to a particular taste, which it sounds like would describe you, these Canadian brands might be a place to start. They are affordable, attractive and sound very nice. More importantly - they don't really SOUND like anything. They are very very neutral. If your amp is bright and airy and focused - so are they. If your amp is warm and open and soft - so are they.

If I were replacing my now vintage B&W's and wasn't sure where to start - that's where I'd start.
