The zeppelin USS MACON crashed and sank in 1935.Now MBARI, NOAA, and the US Navy are collaborating on mapping the airship's final resting place and discovering its missing tail fin. Be sure to check out the photo gallery for the shot of the Macon over Manhattan.
We all have our obsessions, I suppose. This one seems pretty benign.
I try not to link to stuff I see on Boing-Boing, since that site gets about a zillion times the traffic I do, but Peter Bagge's four-page comics rumination on immigration on <IReEasononline is just too good to ignore.
Because it's so freaking cool.

I may have found the solution to Jeff Wong's and my return-leg headwind problem. Of course, the Pacific Wind ThrustPac is noisy and would make us look (more) like dorks, but a personal jet pack that would give us speeds of 25–35mph and it a range of 150mpg might be worth it. Pacific Wind’s website is pretty crappy, but the ThrustPac seems to utilize a 35cc engine.
