>> 9. And Finally – Don’t Forget What’s Supporting Your Equipment.

The scourge of rubber feet.

Now this might seem like a strange subject for a cable primer, but if your AC supply and signal cables are two legs of the foundation supporting your system’s performance, the third is definitely the supporting surfaces on which your equipment is placed – and the same rules apply.

Proper equipment support and resonance control is a subject in its own right, but coupling your equipment directly to a suitable supporting surface (bypassing its rubber feet) will make a huge difference to its performance. Use the same supports and couplers under the entire system and the gains will be dramatic.

Once again, the watchword is consistency – and ignoring it will undermine the performance of your system and the considerable musical pleasure it should deliver.
