All I Want For Christmas

"You know what I want for Christmas, mom."
"What?"
"I'm not asking you if you know; I'm telling you that you do know."
"What?"
"What do you mean, 'What'?" You know, right?"
"How would I know?"
"Mom, you always know."
"Not this year, Stephen. This year I don't know. Tell me."
"I don't want to tell you. I want you to just know."
"Stephen, I'm telling you: I. Don't. Know."
"Yes, you do."
"Stephen!"
"Mom!"
"Just tell me, boy."
"Nope."
"That's it."
"What?"
"You're getting socks."

Alright, alright. I'm breaking down. I can't take it anymore. Here's what I want for Christmas:

1. Bruce Springsteen's 30th Anniversary Born to Run box set!
Robert had this in the office one day, and it looks AWESOME.

2. Marc Bolan and T.Rex, Born to Boogie CD and DVD!
This was at the top of Johnny Walker Black's "Top 10 of 2005." And I was born to boogie, too, you know; I was born on the day Marc Bolan died.

3. Actual Air, a book of poetry by David Berman!
I recently fell in love. [Hint: Click the external link.]

Alright, somebody out there, anybody, I don't care who — that means you, mom — better buy me these things for Christmas.

Or else.
Or else what?
Or else you're getting socks!

I was born the day Sylvia Plath waxed herself... I've often wondered what that spelled for my fate.
