A Really Big Show

You thought it was crowded last year? The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced last week that, as of the beginning of December, it looks like the 2003 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will feature a record-breaking amount of exhibit space, surpassing 1.2 million square feet.

The 2003 CES is scheduled to run January 9–12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. High-end audio exhibits will again be seen at CES at the Alexis Park Hotel and at the outboarder event, T.H.E. Show, which has moved to Las Vegas' Hotel San Remo and will run January 9–13.

The CEA's Gary Shapiro stated, "We are thrilled that the 2003 CES has surpassed our record-breaking year in 2002 to claim the largest amount of exhibit space in our 36 year history. Our show is as strong as ever, with a healthy number of pre-registrants, a strong international presence, and, of course, the latest and greatest in consumer technologies."

The CEA adds that the CES is now North America's largest technology trade show by a factor of two. The 2003 International CES will showcase the latest innovations from 2000 international exhibitors selling or distributing wireless communications, gaming, digital video, high-end audio, accessories, CE fashion, consumer technology networking, broadband, mobile electronics, content media, new business technology, delivery systems, and the Internet.
