just curious, what regions y'all are from? Don't want addresses, just general. I'm Metro DC/Northern Virgina, USA.

Southeast Michigan
Let me guess. Could it be Ann Arbor?
Minnesota, the land of high end.
Within the Twin Cities alone there is Maganapan, Bel Canto, Audio Research, Atma-Sphere (Wadia used to be just across the river in Wisconsin).
We have modifiers such as Great Northern Sound (Steve just opened a high end store as well) and Audio by Van Alstine.
There are more, but this is the quick list.
And, being from Minnesota, they are all nice.
As my sidebar profile says: Salem, MA, a few miles up the road from Bahstin.
Great lil' city is Salem- and it houses a thriving used (and new) record store. Just picked up a bunch of mint condition albums yesterday... and guess what? the sales guys there are actually friendly and knowledgeable!
Good guess!
And we took Wadia. In your face!
Between the Klamath and Smith Rivers on the coast of California 30 miles south of the Oregon border. Beautiful, but audio deprived.
Raised in Brooklyn, NY
Moved to New Jersey after getting married.
Have lived in Mahwah, NJ for the past 27 years.
I am currently living in The Hague, NL (from August 2007 until sometime in early 2009).
Olympia Washington, State Capital, Not One Audio Store!
I'm in the center of Western civilization - Brooklyn, NY. I'm actually 15 mins away from Skinflints, so I know where you guys hang out.
Manhattan, Morningside Heights, literally across the street from Columbia Univ. Thank God I'm graduating/moving in May.

I'm moving to Chico in a month or three, and at CES met an audiophile from Oroville.
Close enough for some parties?

I've got a great friend up there. I love that neighborhood. Almost moved there myself. (Though not directly across the street from the University.)
Chico is a notorious university party town and only 300 miles away. 150 miles on the dreaded switchbacks of hiway 299 (Redding). About 5 1/2 hours.
Honey, I have to jump over to Buddha's to demag some discs. I'll be back in a few days! BTW, Welcome to California!
Body: Cincinnati, Ohio. Mind: Hawaii. Someday the body will hopefully catch up to the mind for more than a vacation.

It's God's own borough, and home to me, Wes Phillips, Robert Baird, Fred Kaplan, and Jeff Wong. Other local Stereophiliacs are Bob Reina (Queens), Larry Greenhill (Westchester), Kal Rubinson (Manhattan), and Stephen Mejias and Mikey Fremer (Jersey).

Never been to Brooklyn, perhaps I never will. But I've been to many and varied great geographic locations. I'm not knocking on brooklyn, but there are lots of centers of the universe. They are each usually associated, on a 1-to-1 basis, with a single human brain!

Me Mum's nether regions.
Arizona, as stated in my profile.
Still trying to choose between Palo Verde Nuke power or Colorado River Hydro power. Palo Verde sounds more solid state, while the hydro power has a softer tube like sound to it.

Skinflint's seared tuna isn't half bad either.
Fremer is in Jersey? Shit, that explains everything! Behold for he doeth not deserve our wrath, for we shall give him our pity. Someone call Amazing Randi, he may want to contribute a million to the MF sympathy fund.
Savage, Minnesota. Where the current temp is -14 F.
I am at a loss as to why I am still here. Must be a SWMBO issue.
How far do we have to drive to find a decent High End Audio dealer from the Minneapolis area?

But most importantly, Monty Python's Flying Circus!!
Better jump in here and represent the heartland of the USA. Which in my particular case, is southwest Missouri; The little town of Nevada, to be exact. (Say nuh-VAY-duh; Some of the locals are kind of touchy about that.)
Our average temperature here in January is 41 degrees. The trouble is, one day it's 20 and the next it's 62.
The closest audio emporiums are in Kansas City, 100 miles to the north, and the only local store that has a selection of CD titles is our Wal-Mart. Needless to say, I am an "internet audiophile".
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this forum but have read and enjoyed Stereophile for many, many years.

Born in Kearney in'52. Parents lived in Lyndhurst, Newark, etc. They migrated to the west when the Brooklyn Dodgers moved (seriously). Have relatives (Cinardo) all over NJ/NY.

Cool. I bet my grandfather considered moving, too. Instead, he became a Mets fan, dooming us all to cold winters and frustrating summers.

Being from Brooklyn and just a wee lad when the Dodgers stabbed their fans right through their hearts, I was raised to believe that the two words "Walter O'Malley" were the foulest and most evil in the entire English language.
The treatment of fans by the owners of the many professional sports teams in the US have never recovered from that fateful day when the Dodgers were taken away.
