I found Bruce Springsteen's 30th Anniversary Born to Run boxset, and a 3-CD set of Earth, Wind & Fire classics. Pretty darn sexy.
Steely Dan's 'Everything Must Go' on vinyl and Rimsky-Korsakov, Scheherazade Russian Easter Overture on the TelArc label.
How's that for a strange marriage?
I hope I don't ruin anything for you, but sometimes when I'm driving and feeling rummy from the miles, I listen to the Born To Run album and picture Meat Loaf doing those tunes.
Born To Run is of a kind with Bat Out Of Hell, if you listen late at night on a lonely stretch of road.
It works in reverse, too. For a fine mental image, play Bat Out Of Hell and imagine Springsteen doing the tunes.
Disclaimer: Just got in from a long drive...
Your girlfriend or the Beatles?
Seriously, I have most of the Beatles from Rubber Soul onward and still listen. That's a pretty cool gift.
The Mars Volta's Tremulant EP on vinyl. From my fiance... Also from her, The 5,6,7,8's double-LP of singles, which I promptly returned.
