I own a PrimaLuna Dialogue II and cannot recommend it too highly.
The Primalunas are all an excellent buy with very nice sound. I wouldn't hesitate checking them out.
A used VTL or Carey would also be great choices, IMO.
Thanks for your input. I guess my real question is whether there will be a noticeable sound improvement utilizing a tube pre-amp given the fact that I'm using a solid state amp? Or, would there be more value in sticking with solid state and investing in a vintage Mac pre-amp? Thanks
A tube pre into an SS amp is a classic, wonderful combo. Whether you prefer this to all SS is something you will need to determine by listening. I do however highly encourage you to check this out as an option.
Plus tubes are fun on to themselves.
Great. Thanks for your help
While we're on the topic, I just won an Antique Sound Labs preamp, which I'll pair with either a Trends Micro or a KingRex.
Thoughts on which might be better?
tks,
Scott A.
