Hi all,
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post...
I have a 10 year old set of Stax Nova electrostatic headphones. The adhesive that holds the ear cushions to the headphone body isn't working well, and they slide and fall off. Otherwise, the headphones work great.
Anyone know how to get the old adhesive off? I'd like to remove it and glue the old pads back on with something else. The old glue is black gooey stuff that is very tacky to the touch (almost tar like). The ear pads seem to be made of leather or something similar. The base that the pads are glued to seems to be plastic.

Best place on the web for advice, information and endless bickering about almost any aspect of anything remotely related to headphones is www.head-fi.org.
Just copy your post, minus the line "Sorry if this is the wrong place to post...", in the "Headphone" section of the "Equipment Category Forums" and I assure you will not only get the answer but also be told how much better other Stax headphones are, how to upgrade the cable, the amp (along with which tubes to use, if it's a tube amp), the ear pads, etc. Well worth a visit.
