Robert Glasper - Canvas CD

Hi all,
Just bought a CD by the young pianist Robert Glasper titled "Canvas". I've listened to it about a dozen times now. Great piano jazz. Glasper's playing contains the sensitivity of Bill Evans and the funkiness Keith Jarrett but he has his own unique "voice".
Some of this also reminds me of some ECM stuff from the 70s. And there is a [very] slight hip hop influence to a couple of tracks.
Just a solid, modern jazz CD with lots of energy.

You had me interested until the "... hip-hop influence.." So it is like a fine bowl of soup - except for the fly in it?

I had reservations about putting that line in there. The truth is, there is one short track with a hip hop type drum machine in the background and there is a track where he plays a Fender Rhodes electric piano.
The rest of the tracks are warm piano jazz with an affection for melody.
Go to Amazon and listen to some samples.
I've found this CD to be absolutely addictive.
