Recommended Components

In general, the list is wonderful, but what is going on:

p. 55, "Discontinuation of a model also precludes it appearance."

p. 81 finds the Sony Playstation 1, whose production ended in 2006, listed as class C, whereas the new Musical Fidelity X-Ray v8 is said to be no longer available. Why the exception in the case of the game console?

Re: Recommended Components

They'll answer for themselves, but I suspect that it was because of the very recent review of the PS, in response to a lot of noise by users here and at other forums.

Because it is so widely available secondhand; because it is so cheap; because it is not a conventional high-end audio product (for which we formulated the rules); and because it is so much fun!

Re: Recommended Components

I note with surprise that the Stirling LS3/5a V2 is now rated Class B whereas in the initial review, it was Class C (Borderline Class B). What happened to make you re-asses and place it in Class B now?
