PS Audio GCC-100/250 Integrated Amp

Anyone have any opinions of this product? http://www.psaudio.com/products/gcc_control_amplifiers.asp

I'm looking for an integrated amp to start a system and was about to buy a NAD M3 until I stumbled upon this.

Re: PS Audio GCC-100/250 Integrated Amp

I have always enjoyed the sound of PS Audio equipment. Paul McGowan, president/designer, started his professional career designing speakers and has a great, careful ear. He is also very responsive to his customers. They have a 30 day money back guarantee so there is no reason not to try the unit to see if you like it.

I haven't heard this particular piece, but PS Audio equipment typically is extremely quiet and transparent with a neutral accurate sound.

I'm using a GCC-100 to drive my Logans with superb results. I much prefered it over the Krell KAV400 or Musical Fidelity A5. If you like your sound clean, transparent, neutral, and dynamic without being clinical, you may enjoy the PS Audio line. My unit is dead quiet as well.

Thanks for the response RG. What model Logans are you running? Do you wish you had upgraded to the 250wpc model? I haven't made a speaker selection yet but was leaning towards a 150wpc integrated amp to make sure I had enough power for now and future upgrades. The 250 seems a bit overkill so I'm having a hard time deciding.

Re: PS Audio GCC-100/250 Integrated Amp

Aeon I - 4 Ohm - 91db. Not nearly as difficult to drive as the older models however they do present quite a varying load which did concern me. But the GCC-100 seems to never break a sweat and I do listen at 90db occasionally. PS Audio states that although all the units are great, the 100 has the best mids and highs. There is a CLS owner at the Martin Logan forum using and loving the 250. The 100 is so dynamic I have no desire for more power, and with a claimed damping factor around 1000 it grabs hold of the woofers like no other amp I auditioned. Some Theils, B&W 802 or older ML's might strain it but I really can't think of much else off the top of my head. The GCC-100 is 200 watts @ 4 Ohms and since most speakers are 4 ohm you should be fine. Hope this helps.
