Has anyone considered a player like this specifially for Redbook audio and 2-channel SACDs?
HHB UDP-89 Universal DVD/CD Player $ 979.00 USD
1 x XLR AES/EBU Digital Output
1 x RCA S/PDIF Coaxial Output
1 x TOSlink S/PDIF Optical Output
1 x XLR Main Stereo Output (2 Jacks)
1 x RCA Main Stereo Output (2 Jacks)
B&H, Sweetwater both have it.
"The inclusion of a multichannel preamplifier makes it possible to
connect the UDP-89 directly to an active 5.1 speaker system,"
"CD, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-Video, SACD, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW are all supported"
24-bit/192kHz Wolfson DACs
See the back panel photo here for connections:
Yes sure we all know that generally professional models are made to last in an installation but with the connections this thing offers and all the formats how does it sound via analog outs? What about as a transport for Redbook feeding AES or SPDIF to an external DAC?
Yes it is rackmountable.
I wasn't able to find ANY reviews. Does anyone know anything about this unit?
