I live in an area that in the late summer experiences some brown outs and power outages. So I purchased a Panamax M5510 power conditioner ($1300). This unit has high current outlets for amps and has isolated and balanced modes along with analog voltage and amp meters. It also protects against brown outs and surges. The company states that it is more of an "audiophile" unit. My question is that since I feel that I need to protect my gear, what are your opinions on this unit or other "high end" power conditioners. I don't want to degrade the sound at all.
Thanks,
Don

Short of adding a UPS function, the Panamax 5510 is super. I used one for almost 2 years and it functioned perfectly.

Thanks Kal. I respect your opinion. It's funny, I was going to buy a less expensive unit but my wife talked me into buying this one. Now that's what I call the wife acceptance factor! Of course, she is used to looking at large speakers and gear in our living room.
