Thanks man- good stuff.
But...I can't help but thinking, isn't pretty much ALL his stuff pretty damn Evil? Often in a "good" way I guess, sometimes beautiful, though that would not have been the word I'd use first.
Speaking of music isolation- the band The Low Anthem put out an LP recorded in only 10 days in a summer home in the middle of winter, on an island off the coast of Rhode Island. Called it "OH MY GOD,
CHARLIE DARWIN" and it's great. Not evil- but very inspired and honest music. Each cut is an unadulterated cut.
Yeah Doug, I posted about the Low Anthem several months ago.. Love them. Good taste man! Of course my post was wholly ignored.
Some albums that are kicking my ass
The Tallest Man on Earth
The Futurebirds
Paul Curreri- the song "california" blows my mind
Sorry I missed the Low Anthem post! I saw them live at the Newport Folk Fest this August. Very good stuff!
I will check out your mini list. Too bad there is not an easy way to share more music. Plus, all my best stuff is on LP. If you were closer by it'd great just to have you over for a long-night music and bull session.
Internet is great for a lot of things, but the guys I like on the forum I'd much rather just hang with live than send messages thread. Plus I can't even really type! I CAN use the spell check though, so you'll never see me posts with teh sprinkled throughout.
