It looks fricking awesome to me. Art Dudley is expecting a review sample.
They're bringing back the HW-19?
The good news is that they got the motor in the right place!
I do think it looks nice. I'll be interested to hear the price range.
Looks very good, sort of HW-19ish. Glad to see some real wood creeping back into the VPI line-up, too.
From VPI's website:
That price, with that arm...they should make a huge impact.
Elusive Disc is already 'clearancing' the previous VPI's in that price range.
That new VPI is nearly plug and play. It will make for many people being able to step up to the plate!
Has anyone listened to this yet, or seen a review somewhere? I'm starting to look for a new TT, and the dealer mentioned he was getting these in and wanted me to listen. But I'm a little paranoid about new stuff no one else has heard (yes, I know, my ears are the only ones that matter, but...)
Check MF's column in this month's Stereophile.
I looked back and didn't see anything about the new "Classic Turntable" or Anniversary Turntable, or whatever they're calling it. Just the VPI with the rim drive. Did I miss something?
Art Dudley was promised a loaner. I'll ask him about it.
Well, it turns out that Art still hasn't received the review sample. Sorry, judicata.
Thanks for checking. It isn't surprisng given that the dealer still hasn't received any either (and he said VPI was a little vague on when they would ship out).
This whole upgrade thing is causing me too much stress anyway, so I can wait. I may post a thread explaining more soon.
