Nice link to Mr. Parlocha's web site. I had never heard of him before, me being a NYC based jazz fan for my entire life. The site and the top 40 list are nice, if just a bit too mainstream for these ears but at least the list is not filled with too many vocalists, as Newark, NJ's own WBGO-FM's top 40 list would surely be.

jazzfan- You're welcome. Since Martino is on Bob's list, I guess he must be "mainstream." I grew up in the Newark
area, and enjoyed listening to WBGO in the early days. A WBGO poster from one of their fund drives is on the wall in my listening room. I don't remember their program material being vocalist heavy, but they did play a lot of blues.
I noticed Joris Teepe is on that list. The only reason I'm familiar with his name is that I was shopping for Jazz CDs at a Virgin Megastore several years ago and ended up talking to this stranger about jazz. I think he may have commented on some of the discs I was checking out (I forget what I was buying at the time - probably some saxophone stuff) and eventually asked him for a recommendation. He recommended For Adults Only by Joris Teepe, and was Mr. Teepe himself. Impressed by his boldness, and open to music unfamiliar to me, I promptly bought his CD and had him inscribe it to me. The music turned out to not be terribly exciting, but, I'm grateful for the unique experience of his shameless plugging.
I have a cool promo CD of Maria Schneider leading a jazz orchestra doing Coltrane's "Giant Steps." I'm unfamiliar, otherwise.

Just for the record, I don't completely agree with the reviewer's comments regarding the recording quality of the CD, I feel that it's much better than what he says. Otherwise, I agree with just about everything else.
jazzfan- picked up "Remember," the music and performance
are great, but I have to agree with the "All About Jazz" reviewer, the sound quality is dark and closed in.
The sound quality on "Think Tank," wasn't great either.
