Matching Amps for the Ayre C-5xeMP Disc Player

You should match your amps to your speakers, not your disc player. If you want it to look like your Ayre, then buy another Ayre. If you want it to drive your speakers well, then tell us which speakers you have and what's your budget.

Agreed, knowing what the speakers (and I'll add room size and listening level) really helps determine what kind of amp is necessary to drive a pair of speakers.

I am using B&W 805S standmounts for speakers. I listen to mostly to jazz vocals, classical [chamber music] and not at very loud levels. Room size is small-about 3m by 5m.

I am extremely happy with the Bryston 3BSST and the Audio Research LS26 preamp.

That will cost about $9000; what is your budget?
