Monty,
Go buy it. Seriously. I don't know if you are a sonics guy, or a sound guy, or a this sound is better than that sound guy, or a (heaven forbid around here) lyrics guy. But it's Knopfler. With Emmylou Harris. If you heard his
Wonko,
Great review. Love the style. You said more about what's really important about the music on this CD than the next twenty "professional" reviews I'm going to read of this disc. I'm walking over to the Virgin mega-store at lunch time and picking this disc up.
Thanks
I read a review in the newspaper the other day and the reviewer loved it. I haven't had my finger on the pulse of new releases lately (so was unaware of it) but, this is something I'd have picked up regardless once I saw it. Emmylou can do no wrong in my book.
"heaven is a girl named Emmylou"
I bought it last week and thought it was pretty good. I was a little nervous about the blend of the two singers but they've aquitted themselves well.
Sonics are good, but I'm not sure this is for everyone. At the same time I would suggest going out and buying it.
I bought the disc a few days ago and have been wearing it out. If you like Knopfler's, Sailing To Philadelphia album, you will most likely enjoy this release.
The tune, This Is Us, is worth the price of the disc.
