Here's everything you need to know about Christianity:

In the end, it's all the same, isn't it?

Yeah, that's too bad. One of the few late term abortionists was killed attending church. I'm crushed like a baby's head.

It's terrorism either way you look at it: violence to advance a political cause.

How's one different from another? Is it only because you sympathize with one cause and not the other?

Well, let's put it this way. One was a jihad, the other a crusade.

Somebody explain the difference to me, now, ok?

There is no difference. I'm a little surprised the anti-abortionist was not charged with umpteen terrorist acts as well. He is already off the death sentence charges. Go figure.

But while you guys try to find a logical or rational comparison to fanatical Islamic ideology I'm going to remember what I learned on 9-11 and that is I'm not about to whimper down and take my impulses out on a less threatening target. Christians don't go around changing their names from Charles Bledsoe to Mahatma Rhaghead, sawing off heads, roaming town killing people by the score, flying planes full of people into skyscrapers full of people, hijacking school buses and kidnapping children like its completely normal, blowing themselves up to kill innocent people every single day, mutilating people, setting them on fire, hanging them by the neck and leaving them there as a message, setting roadside bombs, and to add insult to injury to all of the above all in the name of just to target mainly unarmed and innocent people. I'll take my chances with idiotic Christians that lose site of the ten commandments and keep my eyes on the little fuck that stinks like the food he eats acting innocent with his backpack on the metro. And that goes for the Irish too!

Well, I think that answers that question. If any of it still remained.

I tried to explain it once, to a few people. I recommended a book called 'snakes in suits'. It has to do with the psychology and physiology of the genetic leaning toward low empathy.

It is recognized that about 40% of the human race has a certain trait toward low empathy.

~4 out of every 10 can only empthaize with what they know directly.

~2 out of every 10 can go to war (or work-police, etc) and do things to other people that would enrage them if done to their families and friends. Meaning they can feel for their mother but not the person they run over while in the tank.

1 out of every 10 can feel for the persons in their immediate family, sort of..but generally have their emotions on backward. Ie, fear reigns over love, and separation rules over identification as a form of strength.

1 out of every 100..is the kind of person who would, as a teenager (or maybe they did it today!), nail a live cat to a tree..and cut it's guts out, while alive. Just to watch it die.

All these types are out there, in the world today. Not behind bars, but out there. general public.

What the worst do, is they learn to hide their lack of empathy..as they learn early in life that they are in danger if someone finds out they don't suffer from 'rational emotional reactions' in situations that demand it.

It is quite predominant in large organizations that need such people, which is: politics, war machines, and corporations, even religions, and as well..rich and elite families. The nature of such organizations and groups pulls these sorts of people to the enterprise, like flies to shit. You don't have Gandhi types applying to the local gang to do bank robberies or drive-by executions.**

They advance in the system by the the lack of a barrier. barriers, ones of 'social decency' created by empathy and 'decent behaviour', is not an issue, at all. Like the guy in your office that is willing to ruin your life to get a raise or promotion..they will. When dealing with people like that, you have to think totally evil, without compassion. Then you can finally (maybe) see what they are likely to next attempt, or to understand the origins of their behaviour and current actions.

Their ruthlessness is rewarded by advancement and of course..they don't work, associate with, or marry and have children with people that they are not mentally compatible with..so you can see how the situation is self perpetuating.

This directly indicates that the genetic predisposition of the majority of the worlds most powerful people is one of the self perpetuating and associating groups of low empathy sociopaths.

Think about that for a few minutes.

Recognizing this as one of -if not the most- pressing problems in the world today would go a long way to finding a way to deal with it. The strength to look at it -is a good start.

**(If you had a visualization similar to that of: a black windowed BMW in the inner city slowing down, window coming down.. and a sneering Gandhi leaning out with a Pair of 9's and mowing down two rival 'bangers, give yourself a 10 for visualization. The low empathy types can't do that. Visualization skills are poor in that particular genetic grouping.)

Yes, but those 1 in 100 could be higher in groups like those that flew the planes into the World Trade Centers, The Pentagon, and that big hole in the ground in PA. And the rest of those pieces-of-shit I would like to see killed. So, in the Swat Valley it is probably something like 1 in 10 and in the River Oaks community in Houston probably 1 in 500,000. In other words, your figures are not static across cultures and ideologies. I hate my next door neighbor but I don't plan on blowing him to smithereens with C4 and a couple of prepaid cell phones. The people you are trying to rationalize will kill you. They don't give a goddamn about your book and figures. Nicholas Berg is a perfect example of how people like you end up getting their balls cut off and stuck in your mouth for the whole world to witness.

It's dead even across all humanity on/in all large groups. From the small countries in Africa, to the boroughs of LA and New York -to my home town of 5,000 people. Same-same. The right situations are needed to bring it out and... presto! There they are.

Most specifically, Lamont..they don't mind telling lies, or killing..and they are everywhere, remember? Even in the media and government. Most specifically at the top areas, as that is where they convene. No mental restrictions to hold them back from being ruthless, nothing to prevent their climb.. You follow? Not always 100%, but a notable number. Far, far, beyond chance numbers or percentages, if you will.

hmmm...just saying, if all muslims are crazy evil nutjobs, then what does that make me, a Jew? look at all the stories that have been published about our horns, how we kill a christian baby each year to make matzah, how we caused all the problems in the world. You should be Jew-bashing, not Muslim bashing, with all of the 'written evidence' that's been around since thousands of years ago. Listen, if you're going to rant, rant about Hamas or the Palestinians, but there are tons of good people who happen to be Muslim in the world. Just because they didn't have a holocaust doesn't mean you shouldn't feel sorry for them.

All of us, at one time or another, have had our personal sensibilities subjected to stress from simple observance of the given world around us.

As an example, right now in this thread, I'm being subjected to the utter spew from Lamont's mind. Too bad. Now and then he has shown the possibility of an even bit of tacking and sailing, but obviously, now is not a good note in his mental file-with regard to balanced thinking.

I don't like what I'm seeing in this thread. It's very bad news, and very unrealistic on some people's parts.

The reality is that there is no more 'real' terrorism in the world than there was 20 years ago. What is different now, is the complete hype with which it is pitched as a method of creating differences in thinking-ie, flat out manipulation...and.. the use of it as a ploy to subject entire countries and near continents to fascistic power grabs.

If Islam is evil, Lamont, then come to grips with the fact that the USA is a purely fascist dictatorship where it is controlled by a small cabal of bankers and elites. All freedoms are slowly eroding and there will be precious little left in the near future.

Just so we are clear, "fascism' means: When corporations and political leaders work together to further their desires over that of the desires of the public. 'Totalitarianism', is when the fascist group finally has complete control.

That last stage is getting quite a bit closer, now.

As America really begins to slide into this depression, that is when you will see these stresses come to the point of daily fare. Should be interesting.

You haven't been subjected to shit yet. Probably never will be unless you just happen to be in the wrong place and the right time. You keep rationalizing the world around you and I'll keep my knives sharpened and my weapons wired tight. Thank god there is somebody in Canada that believes shit happens to good people because of bad people. Otherwise, your country wouldn't have some of the best military snipers in the world. You would urinate all over yourself if you were subjected to something real. Pft.

I can see you right now in the, "last stages". "[crying, urinating, trembling] Islam? Sure! Absolutely, tell me where to sign! Just please don't cut my balls off. I'm not with those guys. Read Stereophile! You'll see! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Gurgle...gurgle...gurgle"

Voice in background: [spitting on KBK's headless corpse] Something about us taking the opposite belief because the true belief causes anxiety or some sort of shit like that.

The other voice in the background: Chickenshit hypocrite. Interesting, grab another Canadian from back there! And what is for supper tonight?

I'm with you and AlexO on this issue. All religions suck. Islam sucks more than the rest. Any religion that requires you to eat or not eat certain foods or dress in a particular way for no real or logical reason sucks more than the rest.

The aim of Islam is an Islamic world.

There are two kinds of Muslims

Radicals who want to and try to kill all non Muslims

Moderates who want the same thing and give the radicals money to do the job.

The Saudi royal family gives monetary support to the Wahhabi (most radical and violent of Muslim sects) sect and other Muslim terrorist groups.

I disagree because who gives a shit what the Catholics did 600 years ago or what King Henry VIII did or his fucked up daughter Mary I, or Martin Luther. Like the title of this thread states, "Everything I need to know about Islam I learned on September 11, 2001". I will never trust their fucked up dogma and I will never trust them. Even when Catholic priests have been exposed as pedophiles many Catholics, such as myself, argue with the church to do something about it. We don't sit around our fucking living room and do nothing. This is why I have pointed to the fuckers at the gate when U.S. Customs start looking for someone to search. I know they will pick me and them at that point. You should try it some time. Go right ahead. I don't think much of them either.
Has anyone here heard of the Council of Nicaea?
A bunch of old fogies got together to decide how Christianity was going to be practiced. Most of what they decided and agreed on had nothing to do with Jesus of Nazareth. It was just more of the same religious doctrine designed to keep everyone afraid so they could dictate how people should behave.

from Wikipedia
The First Council of Nicaea was a council of Christian bishops convened in Nicaea in Bithynia (present-day İznik in Turkey) by the Roman Emperor Constantine I in AD 325. The Council was historically significant as the first effort to attain consensus in the church through an assembly representing all of Christendom. [1]

Actually, the convention had a lot more purpose than most protestants, agnostics, and atheists care to think and since it was such a long time ago who gives a shit. Today, you can find the Roman Empire in Vatican City and the rest of the Catholic Church. Comparing Christianity to the early days of The Church and later the Reformation with today's Christianity is like comparing apples to oranges. I'm not your typical Christian. I'm the eye-for-an-eye type of Christian. I can be your best friend or your worst enemy. It has nothing to do with my belief in God. And it sure as hell doesn't have anything to do with the Nicene Creed.

I'm aware of the reasons the council was convened. I notice you don't dispute what I said. One of my best friends teaches at Union Theological Seminary. He and I have discussed this subject at great length. I have done some reading from texts that he has recommended. So, I could have quoted from other sources. Everyone has access to Wikipedia that's why I used it.
You are in no position to tell me what or who to quote. If anything is middle or lower class it's your constant use of profanity. Can't you express yourself with words you would use when talking to people in real life?

Once I jokingly said to a friend "We should unleash Israel, supply them with neutron bombs and let them kill everybody that keeps pissing them off". Neutron bombs would leave the infrastructure mostly intact. Oil production would be back on line quite quickly without the irritation caused by a bunch of irrational religious wing nuts.
On second thought, maybe I wasn't really joking.

From Larry Niven's Ringworld:"All in one motion, the puppeteer had spun on his forelegs and lashed out with his single hind leg. His heads were turned backwards and spread wide, Louis remembered, to triangulate on his target. Nessus had accurately kicked a man's heart out through his splintered spine. Little reminders, little subliminals slipped into articles from CNN (in this example). I mean - they'd be totally sublime, if they weren't so fucking blunt.

A Iranian plane crashes..and for some reason.... no bodies! gee, just like some crashes we have heard of...

But all the passports survived!

Video of the crash site showed a huge crater in the earth scattered with charred pieces of the plane and tattered passports.

Maintain the myth, I always say.
