Does any one in the forums have experience with the Spin Clean System LP cleaner?

I would love to hear about comparisons on this good-value product. Mikey did a solid review, but I wanted to hear from others about their experiences on this cleaner.

Are there other means of drying LP's after the cleaning process that readers have found useful? What about other fluids, and are there any caveats to using certain ones? How does it compare, from a cleaning standpoint, to other, more automated products out there? I need something to hold me over until I can purchase a VPI HW-16.5, and this sounds like the ticket!

i use a gem dandy, which was also positively reviewed by mike. after cleaning, i pat them dry with microfiber towel and then lay them on a microfiber towel and use the low setting of a hair dryer while gently wiping with another microfiber. all dry, i always use a grounded record brush before play to deal with the static issues in case the water or dryer added static.

on that cleaner, don't use the water too long.
good luck.

Another way to get dirt out of grooves is to cover the label appropriately, and use a some over-pressured distilled water and surfactant in the 'can' of a airbrush or larger spray system. In this way you hammer surfactant and pressurized clean water/mist into the depth of the grooves.

What I'm saying is to use an airbrush with the pressure set way too high and some distilled water and surfactant in the reservoir/can.

Be sure to use a mask as you will have a mist.

I'm very surprised no one has built a record cleaner that does this....yet.

Excellent information! Thanks to all. This brings up some new issues, and will require more thought on misting/steam. Check out Mapleshade for something simlilar, but perhaps I'm wrong. Either way, it has great potential.

Any info on the maker of the microfiber cloths? Contacts? I wonder if there are any DIY ultra-sonic cleaners out there.
