Clapton fans Beware

Today the UPS guy brought me what I thought would be a treat - Clapton's new release "Back Home". Two 180 gram LP's - half speed mastered. Eric's newest songs. Sonically it is a first rate job. The content is horrible. He's not writing stuff like a new father (though the cover art makes that clear) but more like a grandfather. To make it worse, the bad songs are so horribly overproduced I never made it through the fourth side. Almost like disco stuff. Drum machines, backup singers, strings. The man's gone over the edge.

Buy at your own risk. Or if you feel you must hear it for yourself, send me your address, and you can have my copy if you agree not to blame me for what you hear. Played less than once on a good analog setup.

This is the best example of wonderfully reproduced crap I've run into in forty years of collecting music.

LOL, now you're gonna have to listen to his "Just One Night" album to clean out your ears and make peace.

Sorry it's so bad! Perhaps you'll find some solace with the new Cream release. I tend to like anything Clapton up to and including DEREK AND THE DOMINOS, after that it's a mixed bag imo. The one recent exception was the CONCERT FOR GEORGE. Anyone know if the Cream reunion release is being pressed on vinyl?
