I have been reading Stereophile for 4 or 5 years now and I have noticed that inexpensive components, especially speakers, are regularily evaluated. I do not remember seeing tests for the less expensive universal cd players. I would like to suggest that Stereophile take a look at something like the relatively new Denon DVD 1920. I realize this is also a DVD player, but I am unaware of any universal player in that price range that does not include DVD playback. It would be interesting to see if acceptable SACD\DVD-Audio sound is now available at a lower cost. One should remember that not everyone can or wants to spend over $ 1000 for the hi-rez formats.
