Berg violin concerto

Hi

Kyoko Takezawa is the soloist at next weekends performance at CSO, im not familiar with the peice or the musician, any thoughts please

Google her--she has her own website and there's a wikipedia entry, too. I think she's a fine musician, and the Berg is one of the 20th century's great masterpieces. Some of it is dissonant, but there is an underlying thematic coherence and overtly emotional feel to it that is very involving, IMO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violin_Concerto_(Berg)
