Benchmark is announcing...

...something in the works. Any ideas??

That's exactly what was needed! A remote!!

I'd love to see a modular DAC1 in the future... so the user could customize it with Headphone amp, USB, Analog Inputs or remote as he/she sees fit... Or at least a regular DAC 1 with remote (for about the price of the DAC1 USB)... since the ONLY complaint I have about my DAC1 is the lack of remote (and I'm not willing to spend double to get a remote - as I don't need USB or analog inputs)...

I hope you don't mind the suggestions. I'm sure the DAC1 HDR will be a welcome addition for anyone considering a DAC1 PRE, but needs a remote....

Thanks for the suggestions, Ajani.

A modular system would be very expensive from the point of view of design, manufacturing, and inventory. For example, it would require several new circuit board designs - a significant expense that would raise the price of the units.

When all factors are included, the evolution of the DAC1 products developed as efficiently as possible in terms of production cost, and consequently are offered at the lowest possible prices.

All the best,
Elias

I was afraid that might be the case... too bad... a modular DAC1 would be really nice...

I'm sure the HDR will be well received... by Audiophile standards it is still very cheap and offers a lot of value for the money...

Yes, a remote is a real good idea.
