NAD C372 seems to be a popular match. This is what I bought for my 2ce Sigs. A C372 was used for the latest 2ce Sig 2's review in our favorite magazine. The C372 got a great review itself a few months back. Vandersteen practically insists their 2ce is biwired. Be careful before you buy your wires - make sure the terminations will work with your amp and speakers. I made the mistake of ordering anticables with the standard spades - which were too wide for both the barrier strips on my Sigs and the slot on the NAD's binding posts. Mr Speltz kindly sent me some new spades but do yourself and get these right the first time.
Thank you CBONE. Regarding the bi-wiring, does that mean the amplifier need to have four channel that will be paired up for each speakers? I mean, any stereo amp will support bi-wiring?
THANKS!
No, just two channels - most any stereo amp will support biwiring. Biwire speaker wire splits into two negative and two positive terminations on the speaker end, or you just use two sets of wires and poke two leads into each terminal on your amp. Electrically, it's all the same to the amp but many speakers like it better than using jumper strips between their two sets of terminals. The benefits of biwiring is the subject of much debate, but for Vandersteen 2ce's, it's a given.
Before buying the 1C, I listened to both the 1's and the 2CE's being driven by the NAD C372. I bought the C372. The amp received a very nice review right here on this forum, and my research showed that NAD makes a very high quality, great-sounding product. Spearit Audio (www.spearitaudio.com) sells refurbs for $700.00. That's where I bought mine.
