20 year old Polk RTA11s still sounding great as front L/R speakers.
Formats and audio trends come and go, but some components are timeless. What component have you changed least often in your system?
My DCM TimeFrames are the oldest components in my system at this pointcoming up on 20 years. I'll replace them, but only when I can spend a lot more money, as these are still best in class to my ears (and even speakers costing 2-3 times as much).
I have owned a Linn LP12 for 26 years. It has been serviced and update in that period but it remains the main source of music for me. During that period I have owned three CD players and my current digital source is a Levinson 37 & 360. My Cal Icon is still in service. Truly my longest standing source is my Lux T12 (28 years) but I listen to FM less than two hours a week.
Speakers have stayed with me for the longest periods of time. From my AR 2axs I bought in 1970 that stayed with to about 1993they lved with me through high school, college, Soho loft living, and too many moves to list. I replaced the ARs after they completely wore out with Snell E III
