I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD AT HOME.SO WHEN HE GOES TO BED,THE VOLUME GOES DOWN.UNFORTUNATELY THAT'S WHEN I DO MY MOST LISTENING.
Last week's question about car systems prompted many readers to respond that their car is the only place where they can crank up an audio system. Are you restricted to quieter-than-ideal listening levels at home?
The question of restriction depends on WHO is restricting. Mostly, it is ME. In order to avoid disturbancing others, I make it a point to lower the volume after 10 PM. I couldn't enjoy the musical experience if I was aware that someone else is suffering.
Living in a townhouse I usually have to reach for the Phones after 10pm or so. But before that I have very understanding neighbors and usually listen to my DVD's at reference level. I tend to play my SACD's pretty loud too, but wouldn't you?
