I haven't found a store with a player that had anything to play on them! Even stores with a retail recording department.

I have and Arcam ALpa 9 CD player and a Pioneer DVD 616 player and I am delighed with the sound and picture quality from both. I am prepared to wait until the format war is sorted out

Why would I invest in a format that offers so few titles and at such high prices? I also don't like Sony's marketing. They come out with SCD-777ES at $3500, immediately drop it to $2500, and now they come out with the multichannel version SCD-XA777ES. I'll wait for the dust to settle and stick with my high-end regular CD player (with thousands of titles to choose from!).

I'm also concerned about SACD squeezing out independent (non-audiophile) labels.

Simple: I'm tired of being dicked around by greedy manufacturers.

This is a Beta/VHS redux, and there needs to be a clear winner before I throw money at digital again.
