Should Stereophile cover more multichannel releases and products?

<I>Stereophile</I> has put its toe in the multichannel waters with Kal Rubinson's <A HREF="http://www.stereophile.com/musicintheround">Music in the Round</A>" column and periodic industry updates. But should the magazine be doing even more in this area?

Stereophile should be dedicated to the music (HiFi) only reproduction. And please do more reviews with full equipment measurments. Reproduction of DVD's doesn't really require High End sound quality (good example: Paradigm speakers, which are O.K. in Home Theater application but mediocre in music reproduction).

With the high resolution aspect appealing more to the Stereophile crowd than the general public, more articles like Kal has been writing are needed.

Stereophile, as the name indicates is about the two channel format, stereo. If you wish to keep the good reputation that you built over many years, please stay with this "purist" format, otherwise you will become just another AV magazine, one of many that compete for the consumer dollars but have very little to do with high fidelity and the pure enjoyment of music. Thanks for the opportunity.

There is tons of two channel equipment that could be reviewed. Why waste the time reviewing multichannel equipment, when multichannel sucks? By the way, I would rather prefer to have more equipment reviewed instead of some of the sections of the magazine, or add more pages as in the past in order to have both.

I am in the market to purchase a universal disc player to get into SACD and DVD-A. Since I love this magazine so much, I'd love to not have to look anywhere else for music reviews.

There are already mags that devoted to HT. The name of this mag is Stereophile - not HTphile.

Why limit our enjoyment of music by listening to only two channels?

By "releases," I assume you are referring to recordings. Stereophile has become pathetic in its dearth of recording reviews lately (whether mono, stereo, or multi-channel) compared to other magazines, such as Absolute Sound.

Stereophile should cover components in the 1K-5K range, which is it's base reader, and 100
