Dang Lamont! Sure you got the title correct? Sounds more like "Bad News About Lamont Sanford".

On stage Austin City Limits Festival. Some folks just don't get it.

I can see that your image isn't showing up and that url is incorrect somehow.
Hmmm? What am I doing wrong there? Why won't that display my pic?
Oh well, let's try it this way.

Lets try it this way...

And another quote:
"Apparently, for the Facebook crowd, seeing one of music's living legends offer effortless brilliance -- the kind that most of those he inspires will be hard-pressed to create just once in their careers -- is a bit too much to ask on a lovely summer's evening."
It appears what happened says a lot more about the audience than the performer.
No, I was there. I agree with your quote. That is why I was there to begin with. But one can't expect his legend to keep people from leaving when his voice is completely gone to the point that you can't make out the words you are so familiar with. His voice is completely gone. But, Dylan has had bad concerts all his life. People have been walking out and booing him on stage his entire career on occasion. I happen to like the guy but he has never been known as a great live performance. This last one I saw was worse than Men Without Hats. Plus, the audience was mainly Austin, TX. You can't blame a music town for walking out on a legend if the legend sounds like absolute sh*t. My whole point is that I was shocked at the whole thing. It was worth waiting for but like the title of the thread describes..It was very sad. It was depressing for the audience as well as Dylan. Getting old sucks. There comes a time when we all have to hang up our spurs. He smoked his voice away. Now, he sucks and shouldn't be performing any longer.
BTW, the guy at the end of my block is dressing an Elk hanging from a tree in his front yard as I write this. Bow season in NM. As far as Elks go this one is pretty small. I would have let it go.
Excellent points and well stated. Hard to watch.
I was impressed with Sinatra at the end. When he couldn't sing smooth and with long phrases, he both changed his style and picked music that he could sing. While he still wasn't up to his past abilities, he didn't turn himself into a parody of his past.
While you can hunt deer, turkey, grouse on my property I draw the line at elk.
Somebody shot my local black bear. They are rare around here (usually a 150-200 miles further north). I miss him.
Billy Joel once commented that he had no idea that someday he would be unable to sing/play some of the very things he wrote when he was younger. I used to go bird hunting 5 times for every time I went to the trap and skeet range. These days it is the exact opposite. It sucks getting older.
I don't know why anyone would want to shoot a bear. Those days are gone.
I saw the guy once, about 20 years ago, at an open air arena. Having heard conflicting stories about his live performances I didn't know what to expect. Thank goodness the back-up band (the Saturday Night Live, at the time) was there...they were outstanding. They played for nearly 45 minutes before Bob appeared. He incoherently "performed" 2 songs then was helped off the stage. Never did receive the free pass to another performance, that was promised.
