A rare treasure from Stanley Turrentine West Side Highway

For those of you who have ever traveled the West Side Highway in New York this is a CD that captures that experience. Recorded by Stanley Turrentine in 1997 it is a great melodic journey down the West Side of New York with artists like Paul Griffin on keyboards, Eric Gale on Guitar, Ron Carter on bass it is a great listen. Mr Turrentine also combines strings with some of the cuts but it works really well here and you can clearly here is passion for these songs. The audio of this recording is not the best even though I have the Japanese version but the overall session will have you yearning for a drive down the West Side highway with this CD alongside. It is a wonderful listen and I highly recommend it

This sounds great. I've recently picked up a couple of Stanley Turrentine's albums on the CTI label -- collaborations with Freddie Hubbard -- and I love them. I'll look for this one on vinyl. Thanks!
