My personal feeling it is enough to use hospital grade receptacles where your gear is concerned. I also think it can make sense to do what JA does and run 2 dedicated 20 amp AC lines for your amps, and you could run a 3rd for your source and preamp components if you wished. Some level of power conditioning can only help, but not to the detriment of spending less on gear to be able to afford power conditioning. Just my 2 cents.

I echo your thoughts on power lines completely. Dedicated power lines and quality wiring/outlets make a huge difference as does proper room acoustics. The point I was trying to make is the issue of quality/accountabilty for the product by the manufacturer, not the dealer you buy it from. The finest audio dealers, either brick & mortar or online, cannot be liable for a product failure due to its quality. I was merely curious if PS Audio will comment on Art's issues. Whether they do or not, is there demand on this forum to rant or rave about a particular product's quality or long-term reliability. There is no such thing as 100% foolproof so we all have the need to find vendors, suppliers, or repair facilities to help with those problems. Since the chance of recall due to manufacturer's defect is extremely rare in this industry, we all can benefit from this exchange of ideas. It is important, in my mind, that rave is just as important as rant. All too often we hear only the bad side of manufacturer's, their product and dealer's. Sometimes this is deserved, but, just as important, we need to give kudos to those who provide exceptional service or product. It is important to the survival of this hobby to support those who cater and put up with us either as audiophiles, music lovers, or both!

One thing we all count on the writers from Phile telling it like it is as they see, hear, use, or measure it. AD is right on calling out this overpriced duplex outlet. At that price it should last 2 lifetimes and have your relatives fighting over them at the reading of your will. AD rebuilding articles are da bomb! Am I getting hip, or what? Na, probably not.

There is no need for hospital grade wiring devices in a home enviorment. Does anyone even know what is "hospital grade" versus spec grade or commerical grade. There is no audible concepts in wall outlets!!! I use 3 15A ckts to run 4 amplifiers and several low power things. Each 1200+ amp can draw some hefty currents. Entire system when doing some cranking sucks about 18A or so across 3 lines. Standard Leviton residental grade wall devices sounds teh same as whatever else you put there, Ps Audio has "audio grade" there is no such thing, never has been never will be. The ad dept at PS dreamt up some BS, and handed it out, and some people ate it. What is an "audio grade" wiring device? Maybe a vacuum cleaner rated device, how bout coffee making device? Actually vac cleaners that you roll around come with a hard useage line cord, tHAT is a NEMA/UL standard. Audio grade don't exist in your wall outlets, nor cord cps etc. $49 pice of junk, did AD actually PAY that price for such junk/nonsense? I bet not. If he did, why?

I agree. The audio industry is very good at separating people from their money. Then again, there is a sucker born every day, especially the ones arguing that the power cord of an amp is the "first six feet" implying that it's the amplifier that's generating power, not the power station. It never ceases to amaze me.
