low voltage

I know this isn't an amp question but this question didn't really fit into one of the other catagories so here goes.

I you were building a house what type of eletricity/wiring would you use to power the entertainment system, and why.

I have a friend who is building a vavcation home and said the guy who does the low voltage electricity wiring in the house is doing the A/V stuff on low voltage and I had never heard of it being done that way.

As always the forums thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Re: low voltage

Sounds like something was lost in the translation. It is possible that he is doing all the lighting and control with low-voltage systems but AV equipment requires 115VAC in the US.
